Dynamic Color System
Visual + Interaction Design / 2025
Carry the same color relationships into the next variation.
Self-initiated exploration

Self-initiated design and front-end prototype by Wrist Studio.
The problem to solve
Replace a repeated color decision with a reusable interaction.
Changing a base color meant rebuilding its highlights and shadows by hand. We designed and built a tool prototype that samples those relationships from an image and applies them to another base color. The interaction brings sampling, adjustment, comparison, and export into one place.
Our approach
Designed around
the explanation.
- 01
We mapped the repeated steps: sample, adjust, compare, and document.
- 02
We designed a connected flow from a reference image to a new palette and saved color cards.
- 03
We added two color modes and immediate previews so the relationships can be inspected while editing.
- 04
We built swatch and document exports to make the resulting palette usable beyond the prototype.
The outcome
One connected path from reference to reusable palette.
We built a working prototype that carries sampled highlight and shadow relationships into new palettes. Saved color cards make variations available for comparison, and exports preserve the selected colors for review and reuse.
- Reference sampling connected to palette generation
- Highlight, base, and shadow relationships carried into new colors
- Saved color cards for comparing options
- Exportable swatches and palette documentation
