Live screens / Arena motion
Kitchener Rangers
In‑arena motion package
Keep the game easy to follow, wherever a fan is sitting.

Commissioned in-arena motion package for the Kitchener Rangers. Motion design and organized, editable handoff by Wrist Studio. The separate Windsor Spitfires concept below was self-initiated and was not used in-arena.
The problem to solve
Many screens. One shared moment.
An arena asks motion to do two things at once: bring energy to the room and stay readable at a distance. The Rangers needed sponsor ribbons, a jumbotron fan game, and coordinated supporting graphics. We treated them as one visual system, with clear messages and a game sequence fans could follow.
A key creative decision
One visual system. Very different screens.
A sponsor ribbon needs immediate logo recognition; a jumbotron game needs a readable sequence and a clear reveal. We gave each surface the structure it needed, while keeping the graphics connected across the arena.
A closer look
Live work & the original concept.
Box Shuffle: Gameplay Loop
Jumbotron fan game (Find the Puck): 20s format, clarity-first
Motion approach
- We designed an intro → shuffle → reveal structure with stable branding and clear ‘follow the puck’ logic.
- We tuned pacing to fit runtime limits while staying readable from far seats.
- We created 3 outcome variations (A/B/C) so game ops can run the correct reveal live.
Windsor Spitfires: ‘GOAL’ Concept Suite
Self-initiated concept · Not commissioned
Self‑initiated exploration that triggered the Rangers engagement
Motion approach
- We created a self‑initiated in‑arena ‘GOAL’ animation suite to explore energy + pacing.
- Not commissioned/not used in‑arena (served as capability proof).
- The Rangers saw this concept reel and brought us on for the full arena package.
Our approach
Designed around
the explanation.
- 01
We prioritized sponsor visibility with simple motion and clear logo hierarchy on the long ribbon screens.
- 02
We built the fan game around an introduction, shuffle, and reveal, keeping the branding stable while the action moves.
- 03
We adjusted pacing to the display runtime and created three possible game outcomes.
- 04
We coordinated the supporting screens and organized the working files for future updates.
The outcome
A coordinated package the arena team can reuse.
We delivered sponsor ribbons, a Box Shuffle game with three outcomes, and matching graphics across the arena surfaces. The handoff included organized working files, giving the Rangers team a way to change sponsors and timing within the same system.
- Sponsor ribbons for ELU, Goemans, and Big League Movers
- Box Shuffle fan game with three reveal outcomes
- Coordinated graphics for the jumbotron and supporting screens
- Organized, editable files for sponsor and timing updates
